In Love {C+K} Anchorage Alaska Family Couples Photographer

Often I am photographing newborns and toddlers, so when a couple contacts me and wants photos of them and their dog, it can get pretty exciting! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE working with the babies and children, it’s my passion; But I almost feel like I’m working with professional models when I have 2 adults . C and K also brought along their beautiful black lab, Ash. She was so energetic and well behaved! I definitely have some awesome shots of her where she completely stole the show, but I’m keeping those under wraps until after C and K see them–don’t want to spill all the good stuff right away! Even with the warmer temps (meaning 30°), by the end of the session we were all pretty cold, and I was wet practically head to toe due to the massive amounts of snow we’ve got this year. Only the narrow paths were packed down, everywhere else (ie. where I had to stand to get the shot) was thigh deep! We ended the session with a cute little ‘winter picnic’ of hot chocolate and bright snowflakes C and K made themselves! Enjoy this little preview!!

PS. Look closely at the purple snowflake, notice the ‘I ♥ U’ cut into the design. How cute is that?!

Siblings {A & K} and a Cake Smash!! Anchorage Alaska Child Photographer

This session was more of a collaboration with A and K’s mom, she brought along so many great props, not to mention an adorable cake! Handsome K was a bit tired for his session, but he indulged us for a bit, and when all else failed, we brought out the cake. He was my most entertaining cake eater yet, digging right in so enthusiastically he got his hand stuck, then proceeded to go after the rest of the cake with his other hand, and even skipping the hands altogether and just using his mouth! Five minutes in, he was covered, and the cake was crumbs. I’m pretty sure about 1/2 my photos of the cake smash are of him face down going after each and every bite–cutest thing ever! Big sister A was so patient watching her little bro enjoy his treat, and she may have enjoyed a more dainty bite or two. Afterward, A and I headed outside for a few images of just her while K napped off the sugar rush. She did wonderfully, so beautiful and graceful for 4 years old! And what a arm! When I had her throw a snowball at me, she actually got me good!! I thoroughly enjoyed this session, and I hope you enjoy your preview, K Fam!!

My 2nd newborn girl in under a week, I’m making up for lost time! We barely squeezed this session in, as E’s mom and dad are moving out of state in less than a month! She was a little sweatheart, and I’m so glad I got to meet her and her family. This little girl is FULL of expressions, she kept us in stitches the whole time, even when sound asleep she kept mixing it up. I’m a little envious of the next photographer who gets to photograph this cutie, I’m sure she will be quite the ham for the camera! Enjoy this little preview, B family, and I wish you safe travels!!

First came love….{Jimmy & Jen}

I met Jen a couple months back through facebook, as we are both photographers here in Anchorage. We met for real one night around midnight when I, on a whim, decided to go chase the northern lights, and being a night owl as well, Jen joined me. She is bubbly and gorgeous, and when she asked if I’d photograph her and her husband, I jumped at the chance. They are so cute together (I’m sure they get tired of hearing that from everybody), and you can literally feel the love between them. We knew we wanted it to be a winter session, and around Christmas time the perfect theme presented itself to Jimmy and Jen. Congrats you two on this beautiful journey you are embarking on!

This precious little girl made her grand entrance over a week late, and belongs to Mama H from the maternity session in December that ended in a blizzard seen here. I took a little break in sessions after the holiday rush, and this handsome guy was my first day ‘back at work’. He’s one of my First Year babies, and it’s always fun to see how much they’ve changed from their newborn session to the 3-4 month session! Once I figured out he loved for me to play peek-a-boo from behind my camera, he was all smiles. His mom brought along the cutest little shirts, and he even rocked a little plaid tie! Oh, and his adorable 2 year old sister even gave us a few moments of her time, and graced us with some beautiful images as well. Enjoy your sneak peek, G family, can’t wait to see you again!

5 Years Old! {K} Anchorage Alaska Children Photographer

Gorgeous K just turned 5 on Saturday, and I had the honor of capturing her ON her birthday! She was the sweetest little girl, and did I mention she was gorgeous? Even after a tiring balet practice she pulled out great images! She picked her backdrops AND outfits, and we got to work inside. Her style was killer! Right up to the ear muffs with a satin bow atop, love! Before we called it a day we went out to the ‘warm’ 30 degree Alaskan afternoon and got some fun snow shots. 9 Days New {B} Anchorage Eagle River Alaska Newborn Photographer

This was my last newborn session of 2011, and with hadsome B being born in December we just HAD to do some Christmas insprired photos. Mom and Dad brought along a custom stocking, and I hung some Christmas lights. He was content to just look around, and spent a long time just laying on the bean bag, just happy as could be. Once he wore himself out, he took a few cat naps and we got to work. I’m thrilled to share this little sneak peek with you, H family, and I hope you enjoy them!
