Your prices seem expensive…..what gives?
Once you have actual prints made, I think you will find the overall cost lower. Your upfront costs are higher because you are paying for our time and expertise. Most clients typically realize an overall cost savings after they have prints made.
The typical photography business model has the studio retain copyright for the images and you are allowed to order prints only from them. Because they own the copyright, you can’t legally take the images elsewhere to have prints made even if they give you digital copies (most don’t).
With our approach you can have as many or as few prints as you desire from whomever you choose. Andrea has her favorite print making places (both online and local stores) and can help you decide the best place. She can also have professional prints made for you for a reasonable service fee if you so desire. Andrea’s professional printing lab is the only one she can guarantee the colors of your prints will come out as intended.
Can I post the pictures online to places like facebook?
Yes. Go nuts….! Be sure to tell folks who took your photographs. You’ll be glad you did–see the question about discounts.
Can Andrea use the photographs from my session for other purposes?
Yes. Andrea is a photographic artist and uses the images from time to time, primarily for promotional purposes. See the release form for more details.
Do you have discounts?
Yes.
Referrals : If you refer someone to us who has photos made you will receive a $25 discount from the session fee for your next session. Andrea doesn’t multiple discounts, but does allow you to bank up those referrals for later use. E.g. Refer two people and get 2 sessions, each with a discount.
Active Military : 10% off session fee
Senior Citizen : 10% off session fee

Do you have package deals available?
Yes. An example is the ‘First Year’ Package which covers maternity, newborn, 3, 6, and/or 9 mo., and 1 year sessions and helps you save money compared to purchasing a la carte sessions. She can also craft custom packages–discuss your idea for one with Andrea.

The first two are well known by the photographer so the results can be more predictable with regards to lighting, atmosphere, backgrounds, etc.
Is there extra cost associated with a location I pick?
Yes. A flat fee of $35 for locations within the Anchorage metropolitan area. The fee for other locations is quoted in advance.
Do you back up my photographs?
No. Andrea tries her very best to hold on to all session images but harddrive failures or computer malfunctions can occur beyond her control. Once you get your DVD of images she strongly encourages you to immediately copy them to you computer so the DVD serves as your backup. Andrea also strongly encourages all of her clients to invest in good backup solutions for all of their digital memories, not just those she helped you create.
Can you make extra copies of the DVD?
Sure. $5 per copy paid with the original session and $15 thereafter.
